way past rush hour

train ride chasing sunset
comforts my spirit
previously soaking wet

strangers in grim faces
silly grins
in moving spaces

going home,
a warm happy feeling!

simply thankful!

for the rain
that waters my soul
for the sun
that makes things bright
for my great Lord
that sets all things right

for food
and shelter
and clothing
for caring
and all believing

for the love and care
of loved ones and friends
everytime, everywhere

for the constancy of blessings
and the wisdom of challenges

for my one true north,
a true love and true friend
a hand to touch
a heart to hold
a smile swiftly unfolds
in each passing time
in each fleeting rhyme

i am simply thankful.
